Drone bees survive for about 2 months only.

When a drone successfully mates with a queen bee, he inserts his reproductive organ, known as the endophallus, into her body to transfer sperm. 

Upon withdrawal, the endophallus is torn away from the drone's body, along with a portion of his abdomen. This traumatic event leads to the drone's death shortly after mating.
