Solution

Acceleration due to gravity is the rate at which objects speed up as they fall towards Earth, due to the planet's gravitational pull.

The factors that influence acceleration due to gravity(g) are:

  1. Air resistance: Greater the air resistance less will be acceleration due to gravity.
  2. Value of g is inversely proportional to the square of the radius of the earth.
  3. The larger the mass of any heavenly body , the greater the gravitational pull, which increases the acceleration due to gravity.
  4. As you move higher above the Earth's surface, the distance from the Earth's center increases, leading to a decrease in the acceleration due to gravity.( This is same for value of g in any heavenly body)
